£3,937 for an Adventure Playground at Brimpton
A CBIP grant of £3,937 has allowed Brimpton C of E Primary School to build new climbing frames and scramble nets and to replace outdated facilities which had fallen into disrepair.
TV Personality Chris Tarrant, who lives locally, cut the ribbon to officially open the £12,000 community playground while surrounded by pupils who were eager to try out the new play equipment.
He said: "I think it's just a great idea, it's going to be good fun not just for the kids but for the community as well.
Joint chairwoman of governors for Brimpton School, Patricia Brims, who shares the role with Janet Main, said: "We have seen how much the children are enjoying their adventure playground, and now this is their chance, with me, to say thank you for making it possible."
She extended her thanks to others who had helped fund the scheme, including Brimpton Parish Council, Wasing Estates, the Mount Charity, Englefield Charitable Trust, Barclays Bank and the joint Greenham Common Trust / West Berkshire Council funding stream, Vibrant Villages.
