Multi-gym project nearing final target thanks to £5,000 donation
An additional helping hand has been given to the team at Chieveley Village Hall - meaning they are closer to making their multi-gym project a reality.
Visitors to the hall have noticed a marvellous transformation over recent years, with improvements made to the car parks, and grassland and newly planted trees adding to the environment. Families and visitors can enjoy picnics and get-togethers in warmer months, in the new seating areas.
Now the team wants to improve the surroundings even more. There is space near the children’s playground that will be an ideal location for an outdoor multi-gym. Once completed, it will offer an affordable alternative to local gyms and can be used by families, personal trainers and clients.
Greenham Common Trust has pledged £5,000 to this community project, helping them on their way to their goal of £11,842.
Helen Singleton, Secretary and Grant Officer for the Chieveley Village Hall Executive Committee, said: “We are delighted with this offer towards our multi-gym project.
“We are getting close to our target and really hope that this can be in place ready for the spring. It will be another fabulous addition for our village and something that can be used by many residents who otherwise cannot afford the time or money for a gym membership.
“It will help promote healthy lifestyles and generate a community spirit. “
Chris Boulton, Chief Executive of Greenham Common Trust, said: “This will be a great use of available space and make a real difference to the families and residents in the village. We are very happy to be able to help support this application, and make a positive contribution to healthy lifestyles.”
